7:14 p.m. Update: Six people have been shot, two fatally.
WSOC is reporting that Trystan Andrew Terrell, 22, is the suspect.

Several people were shot on Tuesday at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. Shots were fired near the Kennedy Building, reports WSOC. Two people are dead. The number of injured is unclear.
The television station is reporting that a suspect has been apprehended. The shooter is a male UNC, Charlotte student.
Just before 6 p.m. Eastern, the school issued a tweet, telling those on campus to “Run, Hide, Fight. Secure yourself immediately,” and monitor email. Law enforcement is in the process of sweeping buildings on the campus.
